1. Overview
At The Legal Prompts, we want you to be confident in your subscription decision. We offer a 7-day conditional refund window that protects you if you have not yet accessed the substantive value of the Service. Once you view the full content of a prompt, copy any prompt text, or generate a document, the substantive value has been delivered and the refund right is voided.
This Refund Policy explains the terms under which you may receive a refund for subscription payments made to The Legal Prompts. It applies to the Starter Plan ($29/month), Professional Plan ($49/month), and Strategic Plan ($99/month). This policy is available to United States-based customers only, as verified by the billing address on file with our payment processor (Stripe).
2. 7-Day Conditional Refund
7-Day Conditional Refund Window
If you have not yet accessed the substantive content of the Service, you may request a full refund within 7 days of your most recent payment. Once you have viewed the full content of any prompt, copied prompt text, or generated a document, the refund right is voided.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a refund, all of the following conditions must be met:
- Request submitted within 7 days of your most recent payment
- You have NOT viewed the full content of any prompt
- You have NOT copied any prompt to your clipboard
- You have NOT generated any document using the platform
- You are a US-based customer (verified by Stripe billing address)
Browsing the public catalog, reading prompt titles and previews, and using the free demo NDA generator do NOT void your refund right.
What You Will Receive
- A full refund of your most recent subscription payment
- Refund issued to your original payment method
- Your account will be downgraded immediately upon refund processing
3. What Activities Void the Refund Right
Because our Service delivers substantive value immediately upon access to its core content, certain actions are treated as consumption of the Service and will void your refund right. Account activity is tracked server-side and logged at the timestamp of each action.
Actions That Void the Refund Right
- Viewing full prompt content: Opening the full body of any paid prompt (beyond the public preview)
- Copying prompt text: Triggering the "copy to clipboard" action on any paid prompt
- Generating any document: Using the NDA Generator, Risk Analyzer, or any other generation tool while signed in to a paid account
- Downloading content: Exporting or downloading any prompt, document, or generated artifact
Actions That Do NOT Void the Refund Right
- Browsing the public catalog and reading prompt titles, descriptions, and previews
- Reading blog articles, guides, and other public educational content
- Using the free demo NDA generator available on the public site
- Accessing your account settings, billing portal, or dashboard without opening paid content
Note: We rely on server-side activity logs to verify refund eligibility. If our records show consumption activity on your account during the refund window, the request will be denied.
4. Refunds After 7 Days
After the 7-day conditional refund window has passed, or once consumption activity has voided the refund right:
- No automatic refunds: We do not provide refunds for subscription payments outside the 7-day window or after consumption activity
- No prorated refunds: We do not provide prorated refunds for partial months of service
- Cancellation takes effect at period end: When you cancel, you retain access until the end of your current billing period
Exceptional Circumstances
We may consider refund requests outside the standard window on a case-by-case basis for exceptional circumstances, such as:
- Extended service outages caused by The Legal Prompts
- Duplicate charges or billing errors
- Other extraordinary circumstances at our sole discretion
Chargebacks and sales tax are handled by our payment processor (Stripe) in accordance with applicable US regulations. To request consideration for a refund under exceptional circumstances, please contact us at contact@thelegalprompts.com with details of your situation.
5. Subscription Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Here's what happens when you cancel:
Immediate Effects
- Your subscription will be marked for cancellation
- No further charges will be made to your payment method
- You will receive a confirmation email
Access Until Period End
- You will retain full access to your subscription features until the end of your current billing period
- Your generation count will reset at the end of the billing period
- After your subscription period ends, access to paid prompt content and generation tools will cease until you resubscribe

You can cancel your subscription by:
- Going to Account Settings → Subscription → Cancel Subscription

6. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please follow these steps:

- Use the subject line: "Refund Request - [Your Email Address]"
- Include in your email:
- Your account email address
- Date of subscription purchase
- Reason for refund request (optional but helpful)
- Wait for confirmation: We will respond within 2 business days
7. Refund Processing
Once your refund request is approved:

Total estimated time: Refunds are processed within 5-10 business days back to your original payment method, depending on your bank's processing times.
Refunds are issued exclusively to the original payment method on file with Stripe. We cannot issue refunds to a different payment method or account.
8. Exceptions
Refunds will NOT be provided in the following circumstances:
- Consumption of Service: If you have viewed full prompt content, copied prompt text, generated a document, or downloaded content (see Section 3)
- Outside refund window: If the request is submitted more than 7 days after your most recent payment
- Non-US customer: If your Stripe billing address is outside the United States
- Violation of Terms: If your account was terminated for violating our Terms of Service
- Abuse of refund policy: If you have previously received a refund from The Legal Prompts
- Fraudulent activity: If we detect fraudulent or suspicious activity on your account
- Chargeback filed: If you have initiated a chargeback with your bank or credit card company. Chargebacks are handled by Stripe in accordance with applicable card network rules.
